Solway Disabled Ramblers in fundraising effort
SIXTEEN disabled ramblers and helpers took part in a snow-filled fundraising mission.
Solway Disabled Ramblers met at the Dock Park and headed out to Kingholm Quay and back in sub-zero temperatures generating a whopping £500.
The new group is raising money to be able to get out and about in the countryside using scooters and power chairs.
Founder and chairman Charlotte Whitelaw said: “We aim to have ten rambles between April and October next year.
“We hope that people with mobility difficulties will have a chance to enjoy the peace of the countryside. For this we need to raise money to transport scooters and power chairs.
“We also want to be able to buy some all terrain scooters so that as many people as possible can take part.”
They held their walk on Saturday, November 27.
