Campaigning for your Rights
DGVoice campaigns for the rights of all disabled people in Dumfries and Galloway. We are actively opposing the council's Blue Badge Charge, meeting with officials and councillors to emphasise our opposition to the charge, and running a campaign in the local press and radio.
DGVoice participates in impact assessments with the Council on a range of proposals from the budget to the garden maintenance scheme. Wherever a new policy will have an adverse effect on Disabled People, we highlight the issue.
On a Scottish and UK level we take part in consultations with opinion formers such as the GMC and the Scottish Government. We maintain close contacts with organisations like Inclusion Scotland and Quarriers.
